Is Breastfeeding Really that Bad for your Body?

For some women it is natural to breastfeed their child. But many women still opt for bottle feeding for fear of hanging breasts or the combination with a busy job.

A newborn child can wish nothing better than breast milk. The milk protects against infections and cow's milk allergy. It is easily digestible for your child and helping the tongue and jaw muscles. For the mothers there are also some advantages. By breastfeeding your child, you better recover of your pregnancy and you lose the extra pounds more quickly.

Hanging Breasts

According to another myth breastfeeding makes hanging breasts, but researchers negate this story. It is not breastfeeding, but the pregnancy to determine whether your breasts will hang. When you're pregnant, your breasts are growing because the milk gland tissue increases. After the birth this strength disappears. This loss of firmness can be easily offset by wearing day and night a bra and apply a moisturizer to your breasts to re-create a firmer skin.

These breaks can be taken up to seven months after birth.

If you do find this however a bit uncomfortable, you can also request a nursing leave. This is unpaid leave in accordance with your employer. You can get a leave of maximum five months.

Cancer

Recent research has also shown that in breast milk is a component that protects your child against cancer. Professors hope even in the long term to extract this component of breast milk to treat cancer in adults.
