Sarah Burton new Head Designer Alexander McQueen
Sarah Burton has become the new head designer of the British designer Alexander McQueen label. She worked for years with designer Alexander McQueen who stepped out of life in February.
Burton has been working since 1996 for Alexander McQueen. In 2000 she became head designer of the female line. In March she still praised the latest couture collection that she started together with Alexander McQueen, but had to finish alone after his suicide.
"We're delighted Sarah wants to assume the role of chief designer. She has worked together with Alexander over fourteen years so she understands in detail wat his vision was, to keep the company aligned to it's roots. Sarah is enormously talented and under her creative leadership we enter a new phase in the history of the company," said Jonathan Akeroy, director of the Alexander McQueen fashion house.
