Computer Game Addictions Not Due To Games
Computer Games Addictions game would not be due to the games itself. That is the contradictory conclusion of a researcher from the University of Amsterdam.
Jeroen Lemmens researched during half a year with 851 young people for the cause of their gaming addiction. His research shows that now is not the games, but the psychosocial problems that lie at the root of the addictions.
According to Lemmens, most of the addicted youth lacked more or less social skills, suffered for being lonely and struggled with a lack of self confidence.
Aggression
The researcher also found that young people with a game addiction are faster aggressive, regardless of whether the games they played were violent or not.
According to Lemmenss there are 20,000 people addicted in the Netherlands, which is equal to 2 percent of all gamers.
