At the beginning of the summer women avoid fatty and sugary snacks as much as possible because of their bikinis. However, a piece of chocolate has also healthy (summer) properties.
If you like being sun tanned do eat dark chocolate. Research shows that eating dark chocolate helps protect against sunburn. Apparently the flavonoids, present in large numbers in dark chocolate, are responsible for the protective factor.
"Obviously a single piece of chocolate only gives us some extra protection and a good sunscreen is still crucial," the researchers put forward.
