Bleaching Teeth Not Without Risk

Not everyone is blessed with a set of white teeth. Today, however, you can get a toothpaste smile by having your teeth bleached. But is this without risk?

Your can't choose your teeth and definitely not their color. Both are genetically determined. But even if you can show off a beautiful smile, chances that you have discolored teeth is great. Drug use, age and unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking are affecting your teeth's color too.

Harmful substances

If you want your teeth bleached, you should first consult a dentist. This is not something you can experiment with. The products used to bleach are chemical bleachers and therefore potentiol harmful. Moreover, the gums can get irritated if in contact with those products . Teeth whitening is precision work and must be performed by a profesional.

Risk

Whitening your teeth is never without risk. The duration of bleaching should be closely monitored. The tooth surface becomes porous when treatment takes too much time. This can also make more dyes to penetrate and that is exactly what you want to avoid. Please note that after bleaching you react more to hot and cold food. You also risk broken nerves, burns and damaged enamel.

Uncertain outcome

The price of the procedure depends on the method you choose. A full treatment can last up to six weeks and costs an average of 600 euros or 740 US dollars. You know never for sure whether the treatment will be effective.
Do not forget that the discoloration could come back after one year approximately!
